Awards are presented to both men and women Citizens of the Year.
•Persons
considered for Citizen of the Year must meet these requirements:
•
Have been a resident of the Village for all of 2005
•
Recognition must be due to volunteer service provided to the community
of Carol Stream
•
Service is for the calendar year of 2005
•
Nominee may not have previously been awarded Citizen of the Year
•
Nominee may not be the 2004 winner for Special Citizen of the Year
Persons
considered for Special Citizen of the Year must meet these requirements:
•
Have been a resident of the Village for at least five years
•
Have been committed to and provided continuous volunteer service to the
community during that time
•
Nominee may not be the 2004 winner for Citizen of the Year
•
Nominee may not have been previously awarded Special Citizen of the Year
•
If an individual has been nominated in both categories, he/she will be
judged as Citizen of the Year only
The Judge’s Recognition is a separate and unique category. To be eligible for this recognition, the person must live outside the Village limits and have provided exemplary volunteer service on behalf of the community of Carol Stream. The organization suggesting the individual for the recognition should write a letter explaining why the individual is being honored.
